mixus integrates seamlessly with your email to enable AI-powered responses and communication. You can control your email preferences, including which organization context the AI uses when responding to your emails.

Email Organization Preferences

🏢 Managing Your Default Organization

When you belong to multiple organizations in mixus, you can set a default organization for all email communications. This ensures your AI assistant responds with the appropriate context, knowledge base, and permissions. To set your default email organization:
  1. Navigate to your Account SettingsEmail Preferences
  2. In the Default Organization section, you’ll see a dropdown of all your organizations
  3. Select the organization you want to use by default for email communications
  4. Click Save Preferences

Note: This setting only affects emails sent to your mixus email address. When you use mixus through the web interface, you can switch organizations using the organization selector in the sidebar.

When you send an email to mixus, the system determines which organization context to use based on:
  1. Your Default Preference - The organization you’ve set in email settings (highest priority)
  2. Recent Activity - If no preference is set, mixus uses your most recently active organization
  3. First Organization - If you haven’t set a preference or have no recent activity, your first organization is used
  4. Playground - New users without organizations are automatically assigned to the playground

  • Verify your email is sent to the correct mixus address

  • Verify the organization hasn’t been deactivated

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change organizations per email?

Currently, mixus uses your default organization preference for all emails. To work with a different organization, you can either:
  • Temporarily change your default organization in settings
  • Use the web interface where you can switch organizations on-demand

What happens if I’m removed from my default organization?

mixus will automatically fall back to your most recently used organization. You’ll receive a notification to update your email preferences.

Can I have different email addresses for different organizations?

Each mixus account has one primary email address, but you can configure organization-specific reply-to addresses in your organization settings (admin only).
